VILLAGE OF CHATHAM
Chatham, IL, was hit by a string of strong storms in early July 2023, starting with a derecho that ran through the central part of the state at the end of June. High winds damaged trees all over the area, resulting in around 100,000 cubic yards of material being collected and dropped off at three area sites by residents, businesses, and the Village of Chatham’s public works. We sent our crews in August 9 to start grinding the gathered material. As each of the three sites was processed, we hauled the resulting woodchips away to be utilized for a variety of beneficial re-use.
